ISSE 2013: Skincare & Makeup (Dinair, BonBliss, G Body Art & More!)

A smaller section of ISSE was devoted to wellness and spa-like booths where I found many of the things I will be talking about in this posts! There aren’t many makeup brands at ISSE compared to hair or nails, but it was still nice.  If you’re looking for makeup…head on over to IMATS or The Makeup Show!

I got to see BonBliss, who make solid body scrubs that I have reviewed before. They just came out with a new size for professionals, scoopables. I think that this product would be great for manicurists because it isn’t nearly as messy as traditional body scrubs!

G Body Art Professional have very unique stencils for their glitter tattoos. If you saw in my intro post, I told you to guess which one I got…an orange kiss! Remind you of anything? These glitter tattoos are great, but not too long lasting. As soon as I got it into warm water, it was easily rubbed off. It lasted 2 days, though!

I’ve seen Dinair at pretty much every single trade show I’ve been to in the past 5 years. I got to check out their newly redesigned airbrush compressor, and was even given my own system that I’m VERY excited about! It’s purple, as you can see from my haul!

A few other makeup brands there were Cailyn Cosmetics, IPKYN, and Michael Marcus Cosmetics. I haven’t tried any of these brands but they all look pretty cool! NYX was also there but their booth was too crazy to even photograph! They were very popular.

As far as skincare goes, most of the products available were for professionals only. I stocked up on tons of face masks! I love collagen face masks, which are similar to Bel Mondo Beauty’s that I’ve reviewed before. At the show, I got mine 10 packs of 2 for $50 from Martinni Beauty! Another mask I love is the Grand Central Beauty face mask, and I found a similar idea from Banzai Living. KollagenX has all 24 carat gold products including a collagen face mask, skincare, and a lipgloss. Everything felt really nice on my skin from what I tested at the show!

Best Lip Stains For Spring

Spring Lip Stain Picks- Stila Pomegranate Crush, POP Beauty Poppy Kiss, NYC Forever Fuchsia, L'Oreal Coral Tattoo, Revlon Rendezvous

I love to use lip stains in the spring and summer because they are so effortless. Who wants to touch up lipstick whenever they’re having fun in the sun? I definitely don’t! I love how stains make your lips feel like they have nothing on them! These lip stains are all great options because some are sheer, some are pigmented, some are affordable, and a few are more pricey. I think you will really enjoy any of these lip stains if you purchase them. Let me know what your favorite lip stain is in the comments!

POP Beauty Stain Stay in Poppy Kiss ($16)- This lip stain is a gorgeous orangey red and lasts FOREVER on the lips. This is the best higher end lip stain that I’ve found. I love to wear a juicy gloss over it to add some shine.

Stila Lip & Cheek Stain in Pomegranate Crush ($24)- Gel based lip stains can be a lot more forgiving than felt tip stains because they are a lot sheerer. I like how you can easily use this one on the cheeks as well for a cohesive look. This berry shade isn’t my favorite in the spring, but if you apply it sheer it will look very pretty.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous ($8.99)- This balm-stain hybrid is for those of you who hate dry lips after using a stain. Revlon hit the ball out of the park with this lip stain because it feels like a light lip balm on your lips, but you still get great color. After the product wears off, you’re left with a just-as-bright stain. I have reviewed it here already if you want to learn more!

NYC Smooch Proof 16h Lip Stain in Forever Fuchsia ($4.99)- If you want a lip stain that is affordable and works just as well as the expensive ones, find NYC’s at your drugstore! I’ve had this one for quite a while, so it is starting to try out, but it is UBER pigmented and lasts just as long as my POP one.

L’Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Coral Tattoo ($9.99)- This lip stain is new on the market and is pretty much an exact dupe of YSL glossy stains, so I decided to include this one as it is a much more affordable option. I have reviewed this shade along with another here already, but I do really like them! I think these are for those of you who love lip gloss and want more color out of it without wearing a lipstick.

If you know me, you know I adore hair oils, so when I received this one I was all over it. Something I think I should note before continuing, is that this oil contains silicones in it, it is not a straight oil. So, it will build up on your hair if you continuously apply it before washing it out. I prefer to use my oils on wet hair because they absorb better and don’t leave a greasy residue. This oil smells very good, which makes it fun to apply. Not only does it have argan oil, it also has white grape and marula oil to combat frizzy hair and leave it silky smooth. I find the water-bottle esque dispenser to be a tad messy, so I know just to be a little more careful with it. I love that it’s only $5.99 and works just as well as higher end oils. If you want to try an oil but are a little wary…try this one out!

I received this clear brow gel from Chella in my November Ipsy bag and have really liked it so far. I hadn’t heard of Chella  until receiving this product so I was very intrigued.  I like that it’s clear, so it works for all hair colors. I definitely prefer  to wear clear brow gels over a colored brow pencil or powder, rather than tinted brow gels! This one does feel a little “crispy,” but I don’t mind it because my brows stay in place ALL day, which I definitely want! I like this little sample size because then the gel won’t get too gross before it’s gone. I hate when I see clear brow gels in clear tubes that wind up looking brown from using it over powder or pencils! This gel is $18 online which is a good price, but I’m not sure if there are any stores where you can get it, which is a bummer…I always like to avoid buying online whenever I can because of pesky shipping prices. I definitely want to try more of this brand in the future, perhaps when I run out of brow products!

theBalm has quickly became one of my favorite brands to receive in beauty subscription services because they have the cutest packaging for their samples…which is rare in my opinion! Their Mary-Lou Manizer is a cult favorite highlighter that can also be used as an eyeshadow.

Mary-Lou will cost you $24 for the full size, which is a great price since you can use this as a shadow or highlighter. The packaging is awesome on this product as well, even in the bitty sample size!

I definitely use it a lot more as an eyeshadow, but since I’ve been loving powder highlighters, I use it on my cheekbones as well for a gorgeous golden glow (say that three times fast!).
