When I first learned of NARS Contour Blush at The Makeup Show LA 2014 (before it had even launched!), I was super excited to try it out. I never was huge into contouring because I never found the perfect product or thought I was bad at it. So, I was able to experiment with the look because of this product! NARS Contour Blush comes in 3 shades: Olympia (ivory/rose), Paloma (pink beige/deep rose), and Gienah (honey/amber). I have Paloma, which does work fine for my light skin, but it will work for darker tan skin as well! Olympia seems like it would be ideal for very fair gals that don’t want a strong contour, and then Gienah is ideal for dark complexions where the other shades wouldn’t even show up. Paloma is the perfect medium that can work on almost anyone. All of these duos are very warm toned, and I wish they came out with a cooler taupe shade, because I think it would suit me a lot more!

I always see girls contouring with these huge brushes. I prefer to use something smaller, because it’s so easy to apply too much product. In the above photo I’m using INGLOT’S 4SS Brush, which is apparently an eye brush, but I like it to highlight, and now contour! Check the thumbnails below to see how I *really* apply this duo, as the above shot is a minor exaggeration. A quick tip: if you find the contour to be a bit dark, mix the highlight shade on your blush and get a toned down shade! I like using the highlight for this reason (although I didn’t in this post), because the highlight is so close to my skin color, I can’t even see it when I apply it on it’s own. #palegirlprobs

I like the look that I get with this duo, but I wish it was a tad bit cooler toned, as the pink undertones somewhat clash with my yellow toned skin. This is the ideal contour for girls with pink undertones, I’d say! I like this, but don’t love it. If I hadn’t received it in a gift bag (perks of being a beauty blogger), and had bought it, I’m sure I would have returned it to get something more taupe. Hopefully they extend the line to cater to those who prefer a cooler toned contour soon!

I picked up NARS Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte a few months ago at The Makeup Show LA. I wanted to have a brightening liner for my waterline to replace my Pixi Eye Bright Liner, and the cherry on top was that Miley Cyrus wore this to the 2014 Clive Davis Grammy Party. Bless Phillip Picardi at Teen Vogue for that reporting!

Rue Bonaparte is described as a light almond. It’s a creamy nude with a yellow undertone, which I prefer for my skin tone! I wear this liner every day (at least every day that I wear makeup), and at first, I didn’t realize how long wearing it was since it was such a light shade. I find that after 4 hours I can still see it, which is pretty much unheard of for lining on the waterline! It’s super creamy and glides on like a dream, but then lasts ages. I’m so impressed with it. Although I don’t buy a lot of makeup products thanks to my blogging and YouTube, I’d repurchase this in a heartbeat!

I don’t wear a ton of eyeliner, so this nude shade is perfect for my waterline. I occasionally will add a darker liner underneath Rue Bonaparte to define my eyes a bit more, but that’s about as crazy as I get! It’s the perfect liner for every day, I adore it! It’s the perfect alternative to a white liner for brightening and widening your eyes to look more awake.

Pick this up at Sephora for $24, and it’s a lot of bang for your buck! I’ve seen the light and I’m never going back to sub-par eyeliner.

The Makeup Show LA 2013 Recap

This weekend I attended The Makeup Show in LA. I had a blast on Friday getting a peek at a bunch of awesome beauty products that I was lucky enough to take home, and checking out what’s new from the brands at the show! I have a lot of awesome photos to share with you, so make sure to check out the gallery and see! I was especially excited to see NARS there for the first time! I picked up a few things and got to check out their new Satin Lip Pencils! I was bummed they didn’t have Albatross, though! Stila also has a few new products, a lip color and pressed pigments. INGLOT came to the show despite the loss of their founder recently, which was nice. They have these new lipsticks that are crazy colors! I ogled Jacks’ Beauty Line of brushes that are handmade all the way in Germany, painted with gorgeous colors! Take a look at my photos to see more!

The Makeup Show LA: March 2-3, 2013

The Makeup Show LA March 2-3 2013 California Market Center

I’m so ready for The Makeup Show this year- less than 2 weeks until makeup artists flock to DTLA to get their makeup on. I love this show because it’s pro-only, making it a lot less hectic than other shows. I’ll also be at their blogger preview event on the 1st, so expect event posts come March! The Makeup Show always has great brands there. This year, there are many new brands to scope out. NARS Cosmetics is a sponsor this year, which is very exciting. I can’t wait to pick up a few must-haves there! Some other brands I’m excited for are Cult Nails, Ellis Faas, Jacks Beauty Line (custom brushes!), and Ofra Cosmetics. Of course you can’t forget old favorites and TMS sponsors MUFE, Crown Brush, Temptu, and the cult fave Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. If you’re not anywhere near the LA area, check out their shows in New York, Orlando, Chicago, and Europe!

Give your Facebook profile a Warhol makeover courtesy of NARS!

If you haven’t been able to purchase any of NARS’ new Warhol inspired collection, just give your Facebook profile a makeover! Just head on over to NARS’ profile and click the makeover button. Then, pick a few pictures to use, and it will generate a custom cover photo and profile photo. I chose to do the profile photo because it went along with the cover photo so well, I’m my own little compact! I saved the photos and uploaded them to my Facebook fan page so I could use it there too!
