I’m sure everyone is tired of hearing about these by now, but I can’t resist because I love them so much! My collection has grown from 1 little lip butter to 5 in the past month or so and I love them all. I thought showing a blog post with swatches on my lips and my hand would be a lot more helpful than adding to the tons of videos out there already. I have 5 colors: Candy Apple, Tutti Frutti, Sweet Tart, Lollipop, and Gumdrop. I’ll do each color individually and talk a little bit about each! All the lip swatches are done on completely dry lips. The hand swatches are about 5 passes and all of the photos are under a soft box except for the lip shots! The things that I love about these products are the color selection, the pigmentation, the moisturizing feel (not super moisturizing, but more than a lipstick regularly is), and the fact that the packaging corresponds with the color inside!
Candy apple is a bright red (I was afraid this would be too bright, but to me it’s a nice sheer wash of red, like a lip stain almost). I find it to be a very warm hue, rather than a super blue-red which I like. It’s almost orangey.
I love Candy Apple on my lips. I haven’t used it a ton because this one is my most recent purchase, along with Gumdrop.
Tutti Frutti is pretty much my favorite lip butter! I love orange lips on me and this one can get extremely pigmented. The only issue I had with this one is that the product was kind of messed up when I got it- it isn’t well connected to the part that twists or something because occasionally I have to push it down in order to put on the cap.
I love this one so much! It’s my top pick, definitely. And anyways, Pantone‘s color of the year is Tangerine Tango…so go get yourself some orange makeup! (my favorites are orange blushes and lipstick)
Sweet Tart is a very pretty pink shade with a hint of coral. It kind of reminds me of MAC’s Chatterbox lipstick. This one is great for spring and really wearable, so I’d recommend it!
Sweet Tart is a perfect everyday shade in my opinion.
Lollipop is a bold magenta with blue shimmer in it. It may not be visible in the photos (but you can see some blue in the lip shot) but it is very much there. This is a great shade for nighttime, as it is pretty dramatic. But it’s still pretty cool. I love it because it was my first lip butter!
Lastly, Gumdrop is a sheer lavender. In the tube it looks like it has shimmer but that doesn’t transfer too much to the lip in my opinion. This one’s probably my least favorite because it is kind of streaky. I think I would prefer to use it over a lipstick so it doesn’t look as streaky. I’m thinking of wearing it over MAC Snob.
So that’s my overview of my 5 Revlon Lip Butters! Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any lip butters and how you like them! Have a great day!
