A while ago I randomly decided that I wanted to wear OCC’s lip tar in Katricia. It’s an outrageous bold purple lip color that lasts forever. This shade is actually discontinued, but their lip tar in “Belladonna” is very similar. The OCC packaging is actually different now because I’ve had my tube for a while, but it’s still an awesome product. Hopefully I’ll get gutsy enough to wear this out! I think I want to use it to make a plum ombre lip for fall. What do you think?

When I heard about Hourglass’ new Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick and found out they had an orange one, I went NUTS! Because, you know, I must own every single orange lip product. How else will I live? Ha! Anyways, I bought this from Sephora around my birthday as a treat for myself (along with a few other things), and I haven’t looked back since. This is definitely going to be a must-have for me.
Hourglass is a brand I haven’t used much, I guess because of the price. I’ve always looked at their products at Sephora, though, they kind of remind me of a mini-YSL…but maybe that’s just me. Anyways, isn’t this liquid lipstick to die for? But, I’m not here just to fawn over this, I actually did a wear-test of sorts!
Applied: 7AM. I applied this lippie before work, after breakfast, so I knew I wouldn’t have been ruining it too quickly!
9AM: I arrive at work at 9, with this lipstick still looking flawless. Typically my lipsticks are half-gone by now.
11AM: I have some slight fading in the middle of my lip, but the color is still opaque around the edges. I had been drinking water throughout the day, so that is probably why only the middle has worn out.
11:24 AM: After a snack, Riviera is evenly faded around my whole lip, but not looking bad.
12:05 PM: Just after noon, I have a sheer wash of color, and the majority has faded, because I’m a lip balm junkie and cannot go sans-balm for very long…
12:30 PM: by 12:30 this lipstick was pretty much gone, so I just wiped it off so I didn’t look like a mess or anything.
So, that’s a whole 5 1/2 hours that this lipstick lasted on me. I’m a very fidgety lip girl, I always “smoosh” them together and put on chapstick, so lip products don’t last too well on me, so I am extremely impressed. I’d say people who don’t mess with their lips can get 8-10 hours of wear, from what I’m observing in other reviews!
As far as how this lipstick feels, it has a very moisturizing feel with a “silicone” slippery-ness (yes,I made up a word!) which helps it last longer. NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Creams feel very similar to this, but I can’t get those to last long on me (and they also don’t have an orange…)! It’s very smooth on the lips and doesn’t sink into fine lines or look streaky. It’s matte and basically perfect.
I’d definitely recommend you all to check this out at Sephora. It does retail for $28, which is a little much, but in this case I think it’s worth it; it’s an amazing product!
