Warm weather and bikini season is approaching, so if you’re snow white like me, I bet you’re on the hunt for the best way to self tan. Personallty, I don’t love tanning at home with products —I suck at using them, and it’s hard to get your entire body by yourself. So, this year, I decided to opt for a spray tan.
Why spray tan? First, since you’re not fake baking or chilling out in the sun, you don’t have to worry about getting cancer — duh. Second, it lasts about two weeks so it’s perfect for any special occasions, vacations, or just because.
I’ve only spray tanned once before in my life, and it was done at an event so it wasn’t a proper experience, and I don’t even remember how I looked. I’ve always felt pretty happy with my complexion, but once I got my tanned at LA Sun Spray Tan, I realized I actually do look nice with a tan, and it makes me look more Italian, or Californian for that matter…
LA Sun Spray Tan is THE place to go if you want to tan and are near DTLA. I love supporting small female-owned businesses. LA Sun is entirely owned and operated by Dila Djokaj, who started off as a mobile spray tanning service and expanded to her downtown studio due to her high demand. I work downtown, so getting spray tanned after work was a no-brainer to me. Dila is so popular in DTLA, I was talking to a friend about my tan and we realized that she had gone to Dila a while back too!
Getting spray tanned by Dila was a breeze. I’ll admit I was pretty nervous, just because I was so excited to mess it up and look a mess, but I made sure to bring super loose fitting clothing to wear after and to just relax at home and not sweat or shower until I was able to rinse. I got the Express tan, which you can rinse off as little as 1 hour after. I waited 3 hours per Dila’s suggestion and was left with a beautiful golden glow!
I was pleasantly surprised with everything, from how I looked to how long it lasted (around 10-14 days). I guess you can call me a spray-tan convert now, because I’ll totally be going back for a special occasion, possibly my birthday in August! If you check out LA Sun Spray Tan, don’t forget to tell Dila I sent you 😉.
