L’Oreal launched these new lip stains that are comparable to YSL’s glossy stains. I heard about these in September and was dying to get my hands on them! I finally picked these up right before Christmas, and I’m excited to share them with you! I got the shades “Coral Tattoo” and “Berry Persistent.”
As you can see in the swatches, they start off sheer and then become glossier and more pigmented when you add more product. You can get great results with 2-3 coats. The first coat is the slightest stain. The second coat adds a lot more color, and the 3rd coat is all about the gloss!
I can see a bit of blue shimmer in Berry Persistent, but I can’t catch it much on the lips. Coral tattoo has no shimmer at all!
I wanted to swatch it next to my YSL Glossy Stain in Orange de Chine. It’s a lot less red than Coral Tattoo, but they’re decent dupes if you don’t want to spend too much money! As for the formula, it’s pretty much exactly the same. They have the same texture and a similar floral scent as well! It makes sense because YSL Beauty is owned by L’Oreal!
Coral Tattoo is a pretty red-orange shade. I love this because I’m big on orange lip colors. I think if you want the orange YSL glossy stain, check this one out. They’re similar enough!
I’m really loving this shade, Berry Persistent. I can’t notice too much of the blue shimmer when I’m wearing it, but I prefer shades without shimmer, anyways. This one is a lot more pigmented!
These retail for around $9.99 (that’s how much mine were) at drugstores or anywhere else that sells L’Oreal. I wish they had a deeper red (think oxblood), but I think these are a great launch regardless because they are the same as YSL’s glossy stains! Go L’Oreal!
Have you tried these out yet?
