COVERGIRL & NFL Fanicures: Pittsburgh Steelers (Review & Swatches)

This football season, COVERGIRL has partnered with the NFL to create sets of their nail polish for each football team, dubbed the #fanicure. I was sent the Pittsburgh Steelers bundle, as that is my team of choice, but check out all of the NFL teams COVERGIRL fanicures on their site. The collections are all composed of colors from COVERGIRL’s permanent Outlast Nail Gloss line, which you can already find in stores. Just check on the site to see what colors you need exactly, and then create your fanicure at home! There is also a nail art tutorial, which is great for ladies who like to experiment with their look. I’ll be posting a nail art tutorial using this bundle on my channel soon, so look out for that!

The Steelers bundle has 5 shades: Ever Reddy, Out Of The Blue, Goldilocks, Snow Storm, and Black Diamond. With all of these colors, you can replicate the Steelers logo and do some fun black and yellow nail art! In this post, I just wanted to show you the colors first…we’ll get to the nail art soon enough!

Ever Reddy is a cream red shade. I used one coat in this swatch, but it would have been perfect with 2. This red is the perfect red to create a red diamond like the one in the Steelers’ logo.

Out Of The Blue is a pigmented medium shade of blue. This is only one coat! I was really impressed with this one. Just like Ever Reddy, blue is used for a diamond in the logo.

Goldilocks is an important shade in a Steelers’ fanicure. This creamy yellow needed 2 coats. I can see myself using this a lot, because not only is it used for a diamond in the logo, it’s a predominant color in the uniforms, and in a lot of merchandise!

Snow Storm is a beautiful creamy white. This shade is a great base color or accent color for any nail art, including Steelers’ nail art! I used 2 coats to get an opaque finish with this polish.

Black Diamond is the last color in the Steelers’ fanicure, but it’s definitely one of the most important. I used a single thick coat for this black, but you could easily use two thin coats to get a perfect black color. This shade is the perfect match with the yellow for a black & yellow Steelers’ fanicure!

Overall, this collection is perfect for any Steelers’ fan, so you won’t want to miss it! Check out the Steelers nail art tutorial from COVERGIRL if you’re too impatient to wait for mine!

COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss Polish 110 Snow Storm Swatch Review — Snow Storm

I remember a few years ago, way before I was into beauty blogging, white nails were the trendy thing for celebrities one summer. It was in all of the magazines…so of course *I* wanted white nails too! Years later, I remembered this as I was painting white on my nails just like I did as a teenager. Today I picked a beauty from COVERGIRL’s Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss line. This shade, called Snow Storm, is a creamy white. Although they don’t need a top coat, I couldn’t resist adding some Seche Vite on top to make it a super glossy white, which I’m obsessed with!

I needed 2 coats of this polish to get it this opaque, but after seeing it in the daylight, I could have used another coat to make it fully opaque with no streaks. I love this polish formula because it’s very pigmented, and combines base, color, and top coat for a long-lasting finish. Check out my review of another COVERGIRL Outlast Nail Gloss shade, which lasted a week! These polishes are very impressive…and at only $3.99, who could beat that?

COVERGIRL Clump Crusher Mascara Review

I had this mascara stowed away in my stash for the past few months and I’ve been hesitant to try it. All of the reviews I saw showed how natural it was, which really isn’t my style. But, I was actually pleasantly surprised at how great this mascara is. I’ve only used it a handful of times, but it’s easily become one of my favorites. I find that it effortlessly adds a lot of length as well as some volume.

It doesn’t look like much, but it’s actually great. I think it’s very flattering. I wouldn’t necessarily call it clump-free, though. I like to use this mascara on an everyday basis and I think it is a great option at the drugstore. You can find this mascara for around $6.99 at major drugstores & Target/Walmart.

Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Review

Covergirl’s Lash Blast Volume mascara is definitely one of the most hyped mascara’s I’ve ever seen! This is my second tube of it, and I love it. This packaging is special for the Olympics, so that is why it’s white instead of orange! This mascara promises “mega volume,” and it definitely delivers! I got the shade “Black” or #805.

The brush to this mascara is orange plastic spikes. I don’t normally like these types of brushes but I do with this mascara.

The brush with the mascara shows tons of short “prongs” I’ll call them, to coat each of your lashes. Now, onto the real review! Before and after shots!

My lashes kind of just stick straight out with the slightest curl, so I like to curl them ALWAYS before applying mascara.

Here is what my curled eyelashes look like…much better. Now onto 1 and 2 coats of mascara for the “after.”

After 1 Coat Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara

I feel like the first coat adds primarily length with a little bit of volume. It still looks pretty natural. I waited until this coat was dry to apply my second coat.

After 2 Coats Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara

After 2 coats my lashes are nice and voluminous and a good length. I love this mascara! It can get a bit clumpy, so user beware. This is my first time using that bottle so I didn’t have any huge issues with it! I would definitely recommend!
