When I attended Ipsy’s Halloween party a few weeks ago I was so excited to be able to take home the ColourPop Blitzed set for Holiday 2015. This set contains 6 brand new Super Shock Shadows that are perfect for any holiday celebration. They’re packaged in this super cute gold and black box with a mirror inside and everything!
This shadow set costs $30 and has 6 gorgeous shadows inside: Valley Girl, Thirsty Girl, Fan Girl, Party Girl, That Girl, and Roller Girl. I haven’t had the chance to wear them all yet, but I did test them on my eyes at home. They’re all gorgeous, but there’s only one matte shade, so you definitely need more shades to complete your desired look.
Valley Girl is my favorite of the bunch. It’s a shimmery white with a gold duo chrome. I use it as an inner corner highlight. This looks gorgeous as a highlight for your face as well!
Thirsty Girl is a gold-flecked bronze shadow. I don’t typically go for bronze, but I liked this one. I wore it with a matte brown in the crease, and none of the glitter fell off on my face throughout the day.
Fan Girl is grayish violet that is very shimmery. I haven’t played with this one much, but it’s really pretty. It’s not too purple to the point that it would look weird during the day I think! But, at the same time, I think it would make for a fun smokey eye.
I initially thought Party Girl would be my favorite. It’s a matte dusty pink color that I thought would be great in the crease. But, it’s far too light for that- it made me look ashy! I applied it all over the lid for a nice warm rose lid and that worked out better.
That Girl is described as a grey with silver and gold glitter. But to me, it leans a lot more green. It reminds me of money or a gilded sage color. I’ve heard people call it sea foam, but I disagree. It’s a lot dirtier than that! I think this one is an unexpected shade that I like, even though I still need to wear it.
Lastly, Roller Girl is like looking into a galaxy. It’s a black filled with rainbow glitter. This one is fun, but it’s so dark I’m not sure i’ll get to using it.
Here are all of the shades swatched. I think this set is a great buy if you’re a fan of ColourPop and often experiment with your eyeshadow. That’s exactly what I’m going to try to do now that I have this set! My only complaint is that it doesn’t really create a cohesive look, so you’ll need other shadows to complete your look, but I think that’s kind of what they were going for with their holiday sets. I still have trouble applying these shadows, so if you guys have any brush recommendations I’d love to see some in the comments!
Will you be picking up any of ColourPop’s latest launches?
