I’ve heard bloggers and YouTubers buzzing about Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask for the past few months and I was intrigued. I held off on purchasing it for a while, because I never really splurge out on beauty products unless they’re a necessity or something I really want. And, I already found a balm that I love: the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm that I reviewed. But, since I’ll be traveling abroad in September, I figured I should get something a bit more moisturizing for the long flight to Florence.
This lip mask is essentially an uber-thick lip balm. It contains lanolin, which comes from sheep’s wool, instead of yucky petroleum. It also has castor oil, agave, and resveratrol, an ingredient in red wine that has antioxidants. It is flavored with vanilla, but it is very light. I only use this at night, because it is super thick and sticky. I wake up in the morning with a layer of the product still on my lips! It has a weird aftertaste that I don’t love, which is why I prefer to wear it while I sleep. I also like to layer it over my Jack Black lip balm at night, because it makes it a little less sticky. I haven’t had a single bout of dry lips since using this. The new packaging seems to be holding up really well, besides some of the dark gray coating rubbing off. I will gladly take that over the perforations and leaking tubes that people were complaining about the old packaging!
After 2 weeks of use, I’ve probably only used up 1/6th of the tube, so it will last you quite a while, so your $26 investment won’t be wasted! I really want to try more Bite Beauty products after trying this, what an innovative brand! (PS sad I don’t live in New York because I want to go to their lip lab and make my own lip color!)
