So at the Beautylish Beauty Social, I was extremely lucky and got Shellac’d! Since Shellac is known for it’s long-lasting capabilities (assisted with curing under a UV light), I decided to put it to the test! I took a picture (or a few pictures) every day that I wore it until I took it off and I lasted about 10 days. I know it could have lasted longer (the full 14 days) but, I was getting sick of it! I only had chips on 2 fingers at the end of those 10 days (both were my pointer fingers!) I found that after 10 days, there was minimal chipping and tip wear, but major growth. I think it lasts very well. Since I like to change my nail polish frequently, this isn’t ideal for me necessarily, but I hardly ever change my toe polish, so I would definitely try it as a pedicure. So, take a glimpse at how well my Shellac lasted!:
How To Remove Shellac
To remove Shellac, you need the remover wraps that come with 10 wraps and an orange stick, and some acetone (not regular nail polish remover!).
Soak the cotton pad on the wrap with acetone, wrap it around your finger and leave it on for 10 minutes. When you remove it, for the most part, I could still see the nail polish, so I thought it didn’t work. But, use the orange stick and scrape it off and it will come off fairly easily.
After scraping off your Shellac, I recommend using a cotton pad soaked in acetone to get rid of any residue. I would definitely do Shellac again!
