This past weekend I attended PHAMExpo, a new makeup & hair convention in Pasadena, California. This expo is a great replacement as a summer event, since IMATS moved to January. I just wanted to write a short post with this video, because that way you can all see the experience! I only picked up 1 item…OCC’s Androgyne Stained Gloss Lip Tar that I’ve blogged about before! Regardless, it was nice to see a convention that reminded me of how IMATS used to be, before YouTubers made it a YouTube convention…even though that’s how I found out about it. IMATS used to be a lot less hectic! I will say that IMATS has a lot more brands there, so that’s why it can be a better option…but PHAME has a lot of fan-favorites! If you had large crowds, check out PHAMExpo next year! It was busy, but not too busy. I liked that they had a photobooth, enough room to walk around leisurely, and a separate VIP area for those with media passes. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait until next year!
NOTD: Jenna Hipp’s “Freshmaker” and “Tweet Me”
After I posted a recap of Jenna Hipp’s What’s Hot Now Nail Collection, you bet I had to paint my nails! I chose Freshmaker, a blue with a touch of green that reminds me of Winterfresh gum, and Tweet Me, a pale yellow. I did a simple nail art by using tape to divide my nail in half, painting 2 coats of yellow over my blue nails!
I’ve only used the cream polishes so far, so I have a good idea about the formula. To me, it’s a bit harder to deal with than other brands, as it was pretty streaky, and the brush dragged a lot. For this manicure, I used 2 coats of each polish, but it isn’t perfect. They dry super fast, which is great since you need at least 2 coats. I don’t mind that, because this polish lasts super well with my go-to base and top coat (Orly Bonder & Seche Vite).
I am definitely planning on doing more nail art using these polishes…I have 10 more to pick from! Find these polishes in a set of 12 minis available at Costco for $14.99!

Jenna Hipp What’s Hot Now Mini Nail Polish Collection
Confession: I’m a nail polish hoarder. So many colors, finishes, and brands to play with, I gotta have them all! When I heard that celebrity nail stylist Jenna Hipp, I knew I had to get my hands on them. I’ve been following Jenna for a while, since seeing Miley Cyrus post about her after getting her nails done. When 2 of my fave things (beauty and Miley, of course), I’m all over it. Jenna’s What’s Hot Now collection is a set of 12 mini polishes & a nail file, available for only $14.99 at Costco! You may remember I just blogged about Orlando Pita’s argan hair care set at Costco a few days ago.
The 12 polishes include creams, glitter, shimmer, and a metallic shade to suit everyone’s taste. The top row is definitely my favorite! The colors are also very well named…The formula is 5 free, which is amazing! They are also quick-dry, which I can attest to since I’ve already tried them out.
Here are all of the shades with sneak peek swatches…I’m going to be solely wearing these polishes until I get through them all & can post them on the blog for you guys! I will tell you that they last really well before chipping…I was impressed! I’m in love with this set. I’m going to be doing tons of blog posts on the individual colors…and expect plenty of nail art tutorials in the future! Check out Jenna Hipp Nails for yourself…browse the collection, see Jenna’s work, and more!
Which one is your favorite shade? I’m sure you can guess the first one that I wore!

Orlando Pita Argan Oil Haircare Collection Review
For the past couple of weeks I have been testing out Orlando Pita’s Argan Haircare Collection, which is now available at Costco for $16.99. This line is a trio of hair products infused with argan oil. It includes a gloss shampoo, a gloss conditioning treatment, and a rejuvenating hair treatment oil. I have oily hair, so I was interested to see how Dr. Yates works and so – how this system would work on my hair!
All of these products smell amazing, kind of like vanilla and coconut. In the shower, I use the gloss shampoo to wash my hair, and then I put the gloss conditioning treatment on the bottom half of my hair, and let it set for a few minutes. After washing it out and getting out of the shower, I put the oil in my wet hair to prevent making my hair greasy. This combo gives the softest hair ever, with no frizz. I really enjoy using this set, even my sister loves it. I would note that since I have oily hair, I find that my hair gets oily somewhat fast with this combo, but, since it makes my hair dry super soft and straight, it’s a go-to for events. This set isn’t available on Costco online right now, but hopefully it’ll get restocked soon. If you have a membership, run to your nearest Costco and grab this! MAC Candy Yum-Yum Lipstick (Review,Swatches)
When MAC first re-promoted Candy Yum-Yum last year, everyone and their mother grabbed it…well, except for me. I am much more of an orange girl, but I understand the appeal. A neon pink with a comfortable matte finish? Sign me up. Whilst on a trip to MAC to return some empties, I snagged this baby for free to see if it lived up to the hype.
And boy, it really does. This is the first matte lipstick from MAC that I’ve ever tried, and it was really impressive. The formula has a silicone-finish, so it doesn’t feel too dry on the lips. Of course it isn’t moisturizing, but it isn’t drying either. I’m a big lip-licker, but Candy Yum-Yum lasted for hours without feathering or getting on my teeth (which is a huge problem for me because I have Invisalign).
Candy Yum-Yum is very opaque, and I find it to be a very flattering matte, it’s in-your-face in a good way, because you can’t see flaky lips underneath!
And the bonus of Candy Yum-Yum is that it stains your lips! I wore this to my sister’s birthday party, where it lasted for 2 hours or so, and then I ate, so it was mostly removed, but a hot pink stain remained. I’m so glad I got this lipstick, because it’s a keeper! I wish they’d make an orange lipstick in the matte formula…I’d be all over that one!
