KARYNG by Dr. Karyn Grossman Replenishing Cleanser Review

I received this KARYNG Replenishing Cleanser a few months back & I’ve recently just finished it, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on it since I haven’t talked much about skincare in a bit.

This line was started by Dr. Karyn Grossman, a renowned dermatologist that aimed to make a skincare line that aid in reducing inflammation.

The Replenishing Cleanser is a creamy cleanser that is perfect for removing makeup and cleansing skin in one easy step. It has a nice lather, which is interesting because it doesn’t burn eyes at all. Also, the scent is amazing- it smells like lemon starbursts! This cleanser removes makeup, including mascara, without any issue. It’s become my go-to and I’ve kissed makeup removing wipes goodbye!

At only $25, this cleanser is a steal and I definitely encourage you all to try.

5 Tips To Prevent Ingrown Hairs After Brazilian Waxing | Video

Ingrown hairs are hairs that grow back into the skin, instead of out of it as they should. This can form painful, irritated bumps similar to whiteheads. If they worsen, they can become cysts. No one wants that to happen in one of their most delicate areas- so here’s 5 ways to remedy and prevent ingrown hairs!

Tip #1: Wear Loose Clothing– Tight clothing leads to chafing and sweating that can exacerbate ingrown hairs. When I get waxed I always wear a dress or go commando (maybe not both…) to prevent any discomfort.

Tip #2: Exfoliate Regularly– Exfoliating will both help prevent ingrown hairs and help any present ingrown hairs come up to the surface. Use an exfoliant meant for the bikini line, like European Wax Center’s Strut Smoothly Reveal Me Body Exfoliating Gel to gently exfoliate. Use this only on dry skin or it won’t work, and be sure to avoid getting it inside anywhere…

Tip #3: Use Tweezers– If you have an easy to remove ingrown hair- meaning, you can see the hair through your skin, or it’s a whitehead, tweezing them out is a good idea. You just have to be safe, gentle, and always sterilize your tweezers and body with some rubbing alcohol beforehand. I use the Tweezerman Point Tweezers to remove mine. But, after perusing their site, I discovered they have Ingrown Hair Tweezers and these amazing gold tweezers.

Tip #4: Neosporin– I like to use this both when I don’t have any ingrown hairs and when I do. Since it’s an antibiotic ointment, it helps prevent any bacteria from forming, which can help aid in reducing ingrown hairs. It gets a bit slippery, so I only really like to use this at night so I can forget about it while I’m sleeping.

Tip #5: Use A Serum– I use European Wax Center’s Strut Smoothly Smooth Me Ingrown Hair Serum to help prevent any ingrown hairs. It has tea tree oil, which is great for acne- and because ingrowns can sometimes resemble whiteheads, it’s great for drying them out.

Marula Oil Review

If you suffer from dry skin during the winter, Marula Oil is going to be your new best friend. Despite having oily skin, when it’s dry out I tend to get dry patches. So, following up or replacing my regular moisturizer with an oil is essential. Unlike misinformed blogs & news sites will tell you, oil is actually good for your skin- all that matters is the type of oil that works best for you.

I’ve been loving the pure Marula Oil for my dry spots. I’ve had a few on my forehead the past few months, and wearing the oil overnight helps get rid of them in a day or two. They also have other skin & even hair products- I’m really interested in trying their cleansing oil next- it sounds great!

SKINxFIVE Infuser Facial Review

This week I had the opportunity to check out SKINxFIVE and receive one of their facials. The space, located in Pacific Palisades, was started by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban. Like the name suggests, there are 5 treatments you can get, and I tried The Infuser facial.

The facial was unlike any other facial I’ve received. It’s unlike a traditional spa facial. Come without makeup, because you’ll have to remove it yourself. Another thing to note is that they don’t do extractions, so, if that’s the dreaded part of a facial for you, you’re in luck.

The Infuser is a facial featuring some microdermabrasion. Additionally, I got a peel mask that exfoliates but isn’t a traditional peel, as, no skin will be peeling. The treatment was really quick, and cost effective at only $99.

With no down time and minimal redness, my skin felt baby smooth after the treatment. I think this is a great treatment to treat your skin to when it’s feeling quite lackluster. If you’re LA based, check out SKINxFIVE and tell them I sent you!

DermaE Microdermabrasion Scrub Review

A face scrub I’ve been loving is the derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub. It’s great because it’s loaded with super-fine microdermabrasion crystals which are super gentle, with a zingy lemon scent.

Typically I like chemical exfoliants, as I find physical exfoliants with granules can be too harsh. But, the microdermabrasion crystals are very fine and exfoliate well. I love the lemony scent that this product has- it smells amazing and makes your skin feel baby soft!

Additionally, a lot of the ingredients are great, natural, and beneficial for the skin. I like to use it in the shower, after removing makeup and washing my face. It makes for the easiest cleanup!
