The Best Natural Deodorants: Myro, Native, and Corpus Review | Video

Native Coconut Vanilla, Myro Pillow Talk, and Corpus Cedar Flora Natural Deodorant

In June made the switch to natural deodorant, and I’ve been obsessed with trying different brands and have spent more money on deodorant this year than I have probably ever, so I thought what better way to feature my favorites than to do a little video? I know people are curious (and scared!) about making the switch like I was, but going natural was not nearly as bad as I anticipated! In fact, it was a lot easier than staying on antiperspirant deodorant, which caused me to have dry, itchy, flaking armpits for almost 2 months, which was cured by switching to natural! Myro: The most affordable of the bunch at $10. Get 50% off with code TWILIGHT (this is a friends code not mine but we love a deal…). I love the fact that the case is reusable (and dishwasher safe), because it’s insane how much plastic we throw away. The pillow talk scent is a floral that is classy and not powdery, I’ll definitely try more of their scents soon. Myro applies really wet, which can get messy, but it does dry down eventually. I think if you traditionally like those clear liquidy antiperspirants, you’d love Myro.

Native: Get a free travel/mini deodorant with your first purchase through the link (and I’ll get one too!). This one has the most basic packaging which I don’t love, but it’s a great starter or every day natural deodorant. Costs $12, so only 2 bucks higher than Myro. I’ve probably used it the most out of the 3, but, because it has baking soda, I do notice that if I overuse it my left “problem armpit” get irritated and red. The coconut vanilla scent is the most juvenile/strong out of the 3, but I love coconut and vanilla. I love how they do seasonal scents too! Native isn’t vegan because it has beeswax.

Corpus: This vegan deodorant is 100% CLEAR! A no brainer if you wear all black everything. It’s also vegan! The Cedar Flora scent is a little strong for me, but I have gotten used to it. I’d prefer something more feminine though! My only complaints— the package seems to leak some kind of oil onto my fingers when I apply it, and the staying power is nice as I’d like. This is the bougie-est of the deodorants I’ve tried, it costs a whopping $22, but I love how well rounded their fragrances are with different notes. Submit your email on their website for 10% off your first order.

NEST Fragrances 10th Anniversary Bamboo 3-Wick Candle Review

NEST Fragrances is celebrating 10 years of fine fragrances with three limited edition specialty 3-Wick Candles in their best-selling home scents: Bamboo, Grapefruit, and Moroccan Amber. The special glass is decorated with a metallic illustration of maidenhair fern, one of their founders favorites. Bamboo is decorated in silver, but the other scents are featured in gold and copper. These 3 wick candles are *huge* and the perfect complement to a coffee table or nightstand. Not only do they look amazing, they smell amazing too!

I received the Bamboo scent, which is described as a floral-dewy fragrance that features bamboo, white florals, sparkling citrus, and fresh green accords. I get a lot of jasmine from this candle- it smells fresh and floral and would be the perfect candle to light anywhere…even the kitchen!

NEST’s candles are made with a highly refined cosmetic grade wax, formulated with help from chemists and master perfumers to hold and disperse a high content of fine fragrance oil while ensuring the candle burns cleanly. They only use lead-free wicks made from high quality braided cotton and/or paper.

My favorite part about this candle is the sheer size of it. It’s 21.1 ounces, housed in a thick glass jar that really has a nice weight to it. The burn time is approximately 70-90 hours, so you’ll get a long time to enjoy it. While I don’t typically turn towards fresh scents, this scent has a nice dose of floral. The fragrance envelopes your entire room and let’s you create your own little oasis at home. You’re definitely getting your money’s worth with this one, because the scent is so strong. I hate when you buy a nice candle and can’t even smell it across the room!

Derma E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer and Firming DMAE Eye Lift Review

Lately my makeup obsession has fallen to the wayside and exchanged for an obsession with skincare. I’m not mad about it because my skin has been on point. Derma E recently sent over a few fall must haves to incorporate into my routine, and I have to say, I’m impressed! I sometimes forget about Derma E in lieu of fancier brands, but Derma E gets shit done and is affordable at the same time.

The Derma E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer ($35) is a reformulation of their Deep Wrinkle Moisturizer, making it perfect for Fall and Winter weather! This double-action moisturizer features Matrixyl synthe’6 and Argireline to help visibly soften skin, along with plant extract Pycnogenol to help support healthy collagen. It’s a super thick and luxurious feeling cream, scented with lavender, which makes it perfect and soothing for nighttime use. I like this one even though I have oily/combo skin, as I just use it at night.

The Derma E Firming DMAE Eye Lift ($24.95) is an eye cream that lifts, firms, and tightens the eye area. I particularly love the tube packaging so you’re able to dispense just the right amount of eye cream. DMAE is used in skincare to help fade age spots and sagging skin, but the cream also features Hyaluronic Acid, also known as nature’s moisture magnet, absorbing 1,000 times it’s weight in water!

OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum, Banana Bright Eye Crème, C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème Review

I’m getting to this point in my life (what is it, mid-late 20’s?) where I’m getting way more excited about skincare than makeup. Lately I have come across this post about 8 Celebrities Who Proudly Admit Getting Botox Injections and decided I should treat my skin with special care if I want to look young and beautiful. I got an email from Sephora about this little trio of OLEHENRIKSEN minis and knew I had to get them because they were orange. In case you missed my entire month long orange instagram feed, these babies would have blended in perfectly…

OLEHENRIKSEN is a brand I’ve heard of a ton but have never really tried any products. I know tons of people rave about the Truth Serum so I was stoked so get it in the set. I’ve been using these for almost a month (and am now unfortunately getting to the last drops), and I’ve gotta say I’ve been really digging them. Potential VIB Sale purchases for sure…

The C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème is probably my favorite of the bunch thus far, and the one I’d most recommend. I had a lapse in skincare where I didn’t really have a great moisturizer, and my skin started to get dry and flaky…this moisturizer stopped it dead in it’s tracks! My combination skin loves this product, which features 3 sources of Vitamin C to brighten.

The Truth Serum is my second favorite of this trio, and it really is the truth! This serum also features Vitamin C, paired with collagen to hydrate and brighten skin. I’m not too picky about serums, but I like this one as it doesn’t leave my skin with a sticky gross residue.

The most recent launch and super hyped up Banana Bright Eye Crème is okay. I’m hard to sell on eye creams, as I’m still young and don’t see much results from them as it’s more of a preventative measure. This one has a sparkly yellow tint which I could really do without. It feels nice under the eyes, but it’s just whatever to me, not something I’d recommend or repurchase myself. This one also has Vitamin C, and the tint is inspired by banana powder to reduce the look of dark circles. I don’t have any, but can definitely attest that this product wouldn’t do anything to color correct.

FaceTory x Bustle Sheet Mask Subscription Box

I’ve been sitting on this sheet mask box for a while, waiting to try a few of the masks before uploading my full review…come to find out that this was the June box & now it is almost August and it’s no longer available. OOPS. Anyways, I thought I’d still review it so you can get a feel for FaceTory‘s monthly subscriptions of sheet masks. I like how FaceTory has different levels of subscriptions available. A box with seven masks in it, like this one, retails for $15.95 a month and goes down to $13.56 if you subscribe for 12 months, but you pay $3.95 a month for shipping. But 7 masks for under $20 is major! Most sheet masks at stores are at least $4, sometimes more.

You have the option of subscribing to a 4 or 7 mask trend box, or can opt for selections based on your skin type. It’s pretty cool if you’re someone that loves a good sheet mask. For me, I find sheet masks to be more fun that effective. They’re good for plumping and hydration for me, but I don’t really think they are revolutionary otherwise. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t use them…I love a sheet mask self care Sunday…

My favorites that I did try were the Leaders Piña Colada Mask for that amazing scent, the Chrysanthemum mask because it was printed with gold foil roses, and the when 10pm mask because I love the bio-cellulose masks way more than cotton fiber sheet masks.

I wanted to love the Baby Face Injection mask, but mine came with a hair in it. It was depressing, but reminded me of this Racked article exposing the Sheet Mask industry, which is an interesting read if you haven’t seen it before. I even mentioned the hair in a story tagging FaceTory and they responded with some sad faces but at the same time did not offer to replace, which take as you will, I didn’t pay for this box so I wasn’t necessarily expecting them to replace anything, but I could see a paying customer being pissed. But, this is the sheet mask company’s fault, and not FaceTorys.

If you’re a sheet mask queen, definitely check FaceTory out! If for some reason I wind up running out of sheet masks (I haven’t in YEARS), I’ll definitely consider getting a box from them instead of buying in-store, since it’s such a great deal!
