Make Up For Ever‘s new Pro Sculpting Collection (that just launched today!) provides 3 new products to make sure your entire face is perfectly highlighted & contoured. I’ve had these products for about a month and have been dying to share them with you, but I wanted to wait until they were available to purchase. Everyone knows that contouring is all the rage lately and each of these products contain a way to sculpt facial features whether it be through highlighting, contouring, or both.

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow #40 #50 Review — Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow, #40 & #50

My personal favorite product from the launch is the Pro Sculpting Brow ($27), which features a brow pencil, highlighting powder, and a soft spoolie brush. This 3-in-1 brow pencil comes in 5 different shades to suit different shades from blonde, brunette, to red. I have the shades 40 & 50, because I had no clue which would work better for my dark hair. I’ve been using #40 almost every day since getting it- I’ve totally fell in love with this pencil. It’s not too hard and not too soft, and the chiseled tip makes penciling in your brows a breeze. I’ll be honest & say I don’t care for the highlighting portion- a loose highlighting powder with a sponge tip applicator. I actually didn’t even notice it until maybe a week or two ago! I’d prefer a cream highlighter if anything, or a brow gel to seal the look. But, it does help sculpt your brows and make your brow bone pop.

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #11 Review — Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip, #11

The Pro Sculpting Lip ($27) is a pigmented lip color & an iridescent highlighter (the same as in the Sculpting Brow) that allows you to make an ombré lip, or sculpt your lips in any way you’d like. I got the shade 11, which is a neutral pink that is perfect for every day. The lip color is a satin finish that isn’t completely matte, but has a great opaque coverage that is easily blendable with the highlighter. This product only comes in 4 shades, with a small shade range of nude/pink/red colors. I think I’d prefer something that was two cream products, again, but the idea of a 2-in-1 lip product to recreate the trendy ombré lip color is pretty genius!

The last product in the Pro Sculpting collection is the Pro Sculpting Face Palette ($45), a cream contour palette that is everything you need to contour, highlight, and add color to your face. The lightest color, #20, is perfect for fair skinned ladies because the contour isn’t too harsh. I like this palette because it has both a matte and a shimmer highlighter- no more having to choose! I personally like to contour and highlight my entire face with the first two shades, then add the shimmer to my cheekbones & the color to the apples of my cheeks- you can even use it on your lips! The formula of this cream palette is very nice- it’s not greasy at all and blends like a dream. I have oily skin & don’t find that this makes my foundation break down any quicker- it sets very nicely. I think this will be the best-seller from this line because it comes in 4 shades that will work for every skin tone- from light to dark (not just “tan”).

The Pro Sculpting Collection is available starting today on Sephora.com. If you’re as obsessed with contouring as the rest of the world is, you need to try these products! I’d definitely recommend the Pro Sculpting Brow & Pro Sculpting Face Palette the most, they’re now in my daily rotation!

My New Hair by Christopher Duran | Crowned Studio Salon in Pasadena

I’ve had shorter hair for about three years now- and while it seems everyone always wants long locks, I’ve found it to be too much of a hassle. But now, with the lob trend (that’s definitely here to stay), everyone is doing a cropped cut. Shorter hair is just so easy- it dries easier, and plus- it makes you 10x more sassy (or is that just me?). A few weeks ago I headed over to Crowned Studio Salon in Pasadena to visit Christopher Duran, who has been cutting my hair since I was 15 (yikes), to refresh my short lob.

I had been thinking of growing out my hair to be collarbone length, but since I hadn’t cut my hair since May I was way overdue to book using their scheduling software. I decided to get some short, choppy layers that make a plain lob have a bit more attitude. I think I’ll be growing my hair out after this to be longer, but now that I have a fresh cut it’ll hopefully look good as it grows (unlike it did before!). Chris is the king of layers- whenever my hair was longer, he could make my long, thick hair feel as light as a feather.

I love going to Crowned because the interior is so cool- sure, that has nothing to do with the hair, but I appreciate a good aesthetic. Crowned has been voted as the best salon in both Pasadena Weekly (2009-2014) & The Los Angeles Times (2001 & 2012)- and for good reason. Not only are they a full service hair salon from cuts, colors, and styling, they also have a blow dry & beauty bar called Gorgeous upstairs. I haven’t been up there yet, but a dry (no shampoo) blow out for $20 and a blowout with shampoo for $30 are prices that are hard to be beat! You can also get updos and makeup services!

If you’re in Los Angeles, definitely head over to Crowned and tell Chris I sent you! Regardless of if you want something long or short, Chris has your back (or your head).

Color correcting has been all the rage lately- I’m seeing so many brands launching color correcting products everywhere but haven’t given them a try. Yves Saint Laurent has recently launched Touche Éclat Neutralizers in bisque, violet, and green shades to conceal & correct imperfections. I was sent the green shade, aimed to correct redness & conceal blemishes a few weeks ago, thanks to Influenster.

I wouldn’t consider myself a makeup wiz, so I had a few reservations about trying this product. I was curious how I would be able to use it as I have a super red face, and if it could be covered by my foundation. I’ve used it a few times and find it’s best on the redness on my cheekbones and chin, rather than my entire face. When I use it on my whole face, my foundation tends to have a green tint. It’s so easy to use because of the brush-tip applicator. The product dries quickly, so I’d recommend to only apply to one area at a time!

The neutralizers are a bit pricy at $38, but if you find that your foundation routine isn’t correcting your imperfections as much as you’d like, you should definitely check these out! I’m now dying to try the classic Touche Éclat.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara Review

I rarely get excited over new mascaras- I just find that most work the same for me aside from my favorite mascara. But, after seeing so many beauty bloggers & vloggers snapchat their mailing of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara ($26), I was immediately intrigued. Did you SEE that mailer? The screen that played a video when you opened it…amazing. So, on a recent trip to Sephora I noticed this mascara was a 100 point perk sample, so, of course I had to give it a try. And I’m glad I did!

This mascara promises 300% more volume in one stroke and 1800% volume in three strokes. I can’t say that it does that, but the amount of volume is amazing. But, the main reason I love it is because of how black it is. The super black pigment gives your lashes so much more drama. I thought the other mascaras I have used were black, but Velvet Noir is really really black. It can get a bit clumpy, so I wouldn’t layer too much, and you’d probably have to replace the tube within 3 months as it would definitely dry out quickly as it’s not a super wet formula.

This was the first product I’ve tried from Marc Jacobs Beauty and I’m very impressed, and now, dying to try more! Share in the comments- what is your fave mascara?

Florapy Arnica Rose Sheet Mask Review

Since Valentine’s Day is only a few days away, I’m planning a little girls night in (although it will just be me…by myself.) What better way to spend a night in than with a face mask? Trade the long-stem roses for a rose mask that will treat your skin well. The Florapy Arnica Rose Hydrating Sheet Mask is made of 100% coconut, which gives it a gel texture I prefer tenfold over traditional cotton sheet masks which don’t fit the face as well in my opinion. The Arnica Rose mask is specifically formulated to give strength and energy, which is definitely something I’m needing right now! Arnica awakens and revives tired skin while rose fights dryness and aids in energizing skin.

I love Florapy because they create masks that use the botanical properties of flowers to target different skin concerns. I have a few more of these masks to review, but I thought the rose one was a no-brainer for Valentine’s Day. You can get a 5-pack of the masks for only $38, and they even have an assortment pack so you can try them all.
