Jouer Peony Moisturizing Lip Gloss Review

If you know me, you know I’m not really a gloss girl. I just hate the sticky feeling and my hair getting stuck in it non-stop. But, it’s my duty as a beauty blogger to try these products out! Actually, it probably makes me a “better” blogger, because I am very picky about my glosses! Today I have a brand I love, Jouer Cosmetics and their moisturizing gloss in Peony. I just blogged about my peonies, so why not blog about a peony lip gloss?

This gloss is a cool toned creamy pink and is gorgeous on it’s own or on top of a matching lipstick. I thought it didn’t photograph as well as it looked in real life, because in the photo it shows the gloss in the fine lines on my lips that are a lot less noticeable in person. I love the formula of this lip gloss because it is very moisturizing and not sticky at all. It’s one of my fave gloss formulas! This color is a fun one for spring and summer…I definitely recommend it to you. Find it online for $20!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pretty Boy Lip Tar Review

I’m a big fan of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and their cult favorite product Lip Tar. I received the shade Pretty Boy recently and was very excited to try it out, because it is a gorgeous pink for spring and summer. If you’re unfamiliar with lip tars, they are essentially an ultra pigmented liquid lip color. You just need the tiniest bit on a lip brush to get the perfect bold lip.

On the lips, it looks just like it does in the tube…a gorgeous medium pink. I like this shade because it doesn’t make my teeth look too yellow, which can be a problem with some bold lip shades. You can find this lip tar along with many other shades at Sephora stores near you for $18, which is a great deal because one lip tar will last you forever!

Pixi Extra Eye Bright Liner Review

One of my favorite products this spring has been the Extra Eye Bright Liner by Pixi Beauty. I’ve been forgoing dark eyeliners this season for a more subdued eye look, which I love pairing with a bold lip! This eyeliner is a creamy white pink shade that is perfect for brightening the eyes without looking as stark as white! I have been using this nonstop for the past few months and it’s now a must have for me. If you’re on the hunt for a pale liner to make your eyes pop, check this one out for $17 at Target or online!

Sheer Cover Studio Launch Event with Brooke Burke-Charvet

Yesterday I went to AXS TV Studios to hear about Sheer Cover Studio, the new and improved line by Sheer Cover. We joined Brooke Burke-Charvet and celebrity makeup artist Naomi Priestley for lunch, a mini makeover, and a demo of the products.

Naomi started her makeover as Brooke spoke about her troubles with makeup not covering her melasma, dark skin patches caused by pregnancy. Naomi used the concealer and mineral foundation to perfect the skin while still looking and feeling natural. She used sun-kissed bronzing minerals to contour and highlight the face, and finished the look off with the lengthening mascara and lash extending fibers, which I was really excited to try! I asked Naomi what her favorite summer makeup trend was, which she replied with neon & grungy makeup (not at the same time, of course). Who doesn’t love bold pops of color?

To apply the lash extending fibers, just do a single coat of mascara, add the fibers over wet mascara so they stick, and then cover the fibers with another coat of mascara. This will give you super long lashes without lash extensions of false lashes! I was so excited to try them out, I just had to get my makeup done!

I headed over to the makeup chair to have my makeup done by TC. She took off all my makeup and repeated the same steps that Naomi did in the demo. She also added some shadow, liner, and blush to finish off my look. I felt like the mineral foundation got a lot more coverage than I was expecting, although, it wasn’t as much as my regular liquid foundation…that can be fixed by adding concealer prior! I was amazed by the lash extending fibers…I think I want to do a video on them!

After my makeover I asked Brooke a few beauty related questions for you guys! Brooke’s favorite summer trend is COLOR! She loves bright lips & nails. I definitely agree with her. If Brooke only has 5 minutes to get ready in the morning, all she does is sunscreen (always), spot cover with concealer, curl her eyelashes (even if she has no time for mascara), and add a touch of gloss!

That’s about it for this event- I had a fun time and can’t wait to review these products for you guys!

Flower Beauty Extreme Measures Lengthening Mascara Review

Yesterday I was watching Drew Barrymore in “50 First Dates,” so, naturally, I decided to do a post on her Flower Beauty line today! I received their Extreme Measures Lengthening Mascara in a gift bag and have been using it ever since. This is the perfect mascara to layer under a volumizing mascara- that’s usually what I do! I am a big fan of this mascara, and at only $6.98 it’s a bargain!

This mascara has a plastic fiber brush that is very flexible to grab every single eyelash. It’s a great natural lash look on it’s own, but I recommend layering Flower’s Zoom-In Mascara on top for some more volume! I’m in love with Drew’s line and I highly recommend it- try it out for yourself!
