My Favorite Face & Body Sunscreens ( feat. COOLA, La Roche Posay, and Shiseido)
We're in the midst of our first heat wave 🔥 of the season here in LA, and while stuck at home with no gym, I've been walking a ton just to get out of the house and move a little. This requires ample sunscreen application, so, since I'm using a ton right now I thought I'd share some favorites! Included below are my picks for face, body, and even hair SPF!
I'm a big fan of the brand COOLA for all things SPF. I have (and am almost out of) their Tropical Coconut Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 and Guava Mango Sunscreen Spray SPF 50 to spray all over my bod for my walks and they both smell great (I'm partial to the coconut)— and more importantly, don't break my body out!
A few other COOLA products that I use are the SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray. I like this in the case that I'm running out the door and didn't put on sunscreen before putting on makeup that day. I also occasionally use their SPF 30 Scalp and Hair Mist that's ideal for beach/pool days (or hair washing days) because it makes your hair super greasy— but it is nice to protect that scalp when not wearing a hat.
Another brand I love for SPF (especially for face) is La Roche Posay! Right now I'm using their Antihelios 60 Face Sunscreen which is great for combination skin. They have a SPF 50 Face Serum that I want to try next— I've only tested it on my hand before but it had a much better finish for before makeup in my opinion! And while I typically prefer sunscreen sprays for the body, I've also been using the La Roche Posay Sport Lotion SPF 60 on face and body— it's pretty good because it dries matte, you just have to be careful of overapplying it because it can get kind of cakey/ashy.
Last but not least, I love the Shiseido WetForce Sunscreen Lotion + Clear Stick. My love affair with these was short lived because I left them at an event on the beach a long time ago. I did review them here in 2018 if you want to see my full thoughts (including GIFs that show you how clear they are!).
Stay protected out there and let me know your face sunscreens in the comments! I just picked up the Glossier Invisible Shield, so I'm excited to see how that one stacks up.
