You all know my obsession for all gold everything, so it’s kind of surprising that it took me so long to jump on the metallic gold S’well bandwagon. I like this one way more than the regular line, because the cap matches the bottle exactly. Their caps are usually always silver. Before buying this, I didn’t really use reusable water bottles. I’m a strictly non-tap water kind of girl (and LA tap water is gross, so why bother?), so most of the time I wind up with recyclable plastic bottles, as bad as that is. This is just a small way to be a little more eco-friendly. I found this one for $35 instead of the usual $42 on Amazon, so if you’re looking to get this bottle too, check there first.
The S’well bottles are made out of high grade stainless steel and keep drinks cold for 24 hours, or hot for 12. You don’t have to only use water in these…I’ve used coffee too, as I prefer a bottle that I can throw in my bag that won’t leak like most travel coffee thermoses do. They don’t produce any condensation which makes it even more mess free. Additionally, it’s fairly light, which I need, because I need it to fit in my purse but not weigh me down, which I feel like those glass bottles would.
I’ve only had this bottle for a few weeks but haven’t had any issues. I try to keep it in the sleeve it came in to prevent scratches or dings (I know, I’m weird). You also can’t wash it in the dishwasher, which means being diligent about hand washing, because it would definitely be hard to clean any stuck-on residue without a bottle brush. I’ve seen complaints about fingerprints, but fingerprints on any metallic surface is kind of a given and doesn’t surprise me at all. My only thing is I swear I can taste some metallic taste when I use this bottle…I’m not sure if it’s from the smell of the metal, or I just have insane tastebuds, but I’m trying to get used to it because I love the bottle.
What’s your favorite type of reusable bottle?
