I recently re-visited Alfred Coffee on Melrose Place and thought it would make a perfect blog post. It wasn’t until I started planning this post out that I realized I posted a blog on Alfred exactly one year and one day ago (😱). Anyways, I usually prefer going to local coffee shops instead of huge chains, just because the coffee is usually better, you’re supporting a small business, and, usually…they are much more instagrammable. 😂
Alfred’s new neon sign definitely fits the bill there…but, even over a year late their coffee still stands out. This time I tried their nutella danish which was pretty amazing- it has nutella, whole hazelnuts, and then some sort of mixture of the two inside of a croissant-like pastry. I strayed away from it at first because I thought it would have cream cheese (no pastries should have cheese). But, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I still got their most-popular Vanilla Iced Latte (they say almond milk is the milk of choice), but I prefer the dairy. I think their other locations are on my list next, because they all seem to have their own character. If you’re not much of a coffee person, check out Alfred Tea Room across the way that I reviewed a few months back!
LA locals- what’s your favorite coffee shop that you think I need to try? ☕️
