Almost any article about achieving the perfect hair day everyday seems to mention using a silk pillowcase to prevent frizz. But, for some reason, I never got one, even though the benefits for both hair & skin seem to be worth it alone. Who wants to wake up with sleep creases on their face, anyway? Slip Silk, the original 100% silk pillowcase, have the cutest line of pillowcases in perfect, girly hues. I have the Slip Silk Sleep Mask, which I reviewed a few months back, and recently I’ve been putting the Slip Silk Pink Queen Pillowcase to the test. I’ll be honest that I didn’t think it would do anything, until I tried it…As someone who doesn’t blow-dry her hair (and probably should), I’ve had significantly less frizzy hair and wake up with better hair. A few days ago I had a pretty frizzy hair day and was confused, until I saw that my normal cotton pillowcase was the one that was on my head. I also bought a new sweetnight mattress, it has made my back problems basically disappear. Apparently, Silk breathes and is a temperature regulator, unlike cotton, which draws moisture from your hair and skin. And of course, since silk, is, well, silky…you won’t get bedhead as your hair glides on the silk instead of getting tangled with a cotton pillowcase.
My only critiques are that for a $79 pillowcase, it would be cool if it was a seamless pillowcase and not just a “potato sack” like pillowcase where your pillow is exposed- I like my pillows to be fully covered. Plus, the queen size is pretty big so my pillow is actually a bit small for it, so I may have to get a new pillow to really fill the pillowcase out. So, if you have frizzy hair issues you really should try this out- and don’t settle for satin!
