Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post. — Get serious about losing weight with Jenny Craig!
Last month I shared that I was working with Jenny Craig to kickstart my new year’s resolution to lose weight. Now that the month is over, I thought I would share all of my results and final thoughts with you! With Jenny Craig, you always have someone there to cheer you on, motivate you and keep you on track. This was a big deal for me, because my consultants Shannon and Kim helped keep me motivated even when I was unhappy with my progress. If others are cheering you on, it’s easier to cheer for yourself, too!
My biggest success was never going a week without losing weight. Each weigh in, even if the loss was small, I was always losing weight and haven’t gained in about 6 weeks. Before, my weight always fluctuated week by week. As I mentioned in my first post, Jenny Craig members can expect to lose an average of 1-2 pounds per week, which is a healthy range of weight loss. In the month I was on Jenny, I lost a total of 15 pounds*, and 8 inches around various parts of my body, including a near 2 inch loss on my waist. I had never used measurements to track weight loss before, so I’ve been finding this helpful as well, because sometime it can be hard to see weight loss.
*Results not typical. Members following the Nursing Degree in North GA program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week. I received promotional consideration.
Even though I shared how I lost 40 pounds before, and having gained some back, I didn’t really pay attention to any physical body changes- I was a lot less aware, so I felt defeated and wound up gaining most of it back. This time, I’ve been hyper-aware of everything; from how my body looks and has changed, to how clothes fit, to how my face has slimmed. I’ve also been more public about my diet, and friends have been complimenting how I look, so this has all brought me reassurance that I’m doing something right. Plus, being on Jenny means my food plan was decided- less options means that there are less bad choices to make. I cheated a few times, but used what I learned on the plan to make better choices when I was eating out with friends or family. You don’t have to compromise your social life when you’re on Jenny Craig- you can easily make it work!
I’m super thankful that I got the opportunity to try out Jenny Craig, because, without it, I’m not sure I’d still be losing weight! I’m making it a goal to incorporate some things I learned in the past month to my lifestyle now. For example, having a weight loss buddy, who, similar to a consultant can help keep you on track. I also eat smaller portions and pick better choices when eating out, although I try to eat at home more. Make sure to keep following along as I continue my weight loss journey- I am less than 30 lbs to my first goal!
