I love finding cute things to decorate my apartment with, but sometimes sticker shock prevents me from buying them! I saw these adorable Natural & Gold Agate Coasters by Jonathan Adler and knew I had to have them in my apartment. But, the $125 price tag for FOUR coasters, I knew I had to find a way to DIY them myself!
I was strolling through my grocery store and found these agate slices. So, I hurried up to Michaels and grabbed all the materials needed to make these! I hope my tutorial will inspire you to make some of your own!
Materials:
- Agate slices (available online if you can’t find it)
- Gilding Liquid (Gold, by Martha Stewart)
- High Gloss Sealer
- Paint brushes for both gilding & gloss (small is best)
All you have to do is paint the agate slice’s raw edge with the gilding paint, wait to try, and seal with the sealer. I let mine dry overnight. Simple enough, right?
These are perfect under your favorite drinks, or even a candle. Make some extra and you have the perfect hostess gift! You HAVE to make these- and be sure to send me a photo to my Twitter or Instagram if you do!
What should I DIY next?
