UPDATE 1/6/16: THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN RECALLED. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE OR USE.
A few weeks ago I received the T3 Micro Twirl 360 Styling Iron in the mail and I was super excited to try it. This curling iron is the first motion-sensing auto rotating iron. I tested it out a few times to review, and then on a random trip to San Francisco I kinda cut my hair a little too short, so I couldn’t demo it for you guys! So, I enlisted (read: forced) my sister Victoria to model for me.
The Twirl 360 Styling Iron is a gyroscopic curling iron with a barrel that auto rotates in the direction you desire. It makes it really easy to curl your hair away from your face without the hassle of wrapping your hair around the barrel- it does it for you! There are 2 speed settings and 5 heat settings to accommodate all hair types and skill levels. The iron has a very big barrel- I would say at least 1 or 1.5 inches (edit: it’s 1.25 inches- right on the money!). Personally, I prefer a bit smaller…but as you can see it made some gorgeous soft waves.
T3 Twirl 360 adds a romantic curl with a bit of volume, for a natural looking wave. There is definitely quite a learning curve with this, as some of the ends on both her and my hair got kinks in it from the iron, as sometimes it’s difficult to locate the button since the iron is always rotating. Other than that, I got the hang of it quickly.
If you’re a beginner at hair curling, I wouldn’t recommend this iron to you. But, if you’re at an intermediate level where you can at least curl your hair well with a curling wand, you can definitely use the T3 Micro T3 Twirl 360 Styling Iron easily. It’s a gorgeous looking iron that gives gorgeous results! For me, the $230 price tag is a bit steep, but now that I think about it my flat iron costs about the same, so it’s not too bad for great technology.
Also, check out my friend Kelsey at Modern Martha‘s review and demo- she shows the iron in action and includes a great gif! She also has a sweepstakes up. For some reason, I couldn’t make a sweepstakes!
