I’ve been meaning to write a review on my Paula’s Choice skin products for a few weeks now, but I just not got the time to write it up, finally! I got these products in early February and have incorporated them in my skincare routine and fell in love. I have heard of Paula’s Choice before and have always heard great things, so I was excited to put them to the test.
- Paula’s Choice RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment w/ 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid ($30)
- Paula’s Choice RESIST BHA 9 For Stubborn Imperfections ($40)
- Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant with 2% Salicylic Acid ($23)
Paula’s Choice RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% AHA revitalizes dull, tired skin. Glycolic acid and antioxidant-rich botanical extracts help diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots, restoring a youthful, radiant complexion. It boosts collagen production to firm and promote healthy, resilient skin.
This is the first product I tested out. I apply it with a cotton pad after washing my face at night and then finished my nightly routine with moisturizer. In the morning, I woke up with the softest skin I have ever had! I mostly notice a change in my forehead, because I had stubborn tiny bumps that wouldn’t go away. After using this for a month, my forehead looks better than ever! I use this about once a week, maybe every 10 days. It does tingle a bit, but it isn’t uncomfortable. If you only get 1 product, get this one!
Paula’s Choice RESIST BHA 9 for Stubborn Imperfections improves the look and feel of your complexion. Its BHA 9 formula allows for a sustained release of salicylic acid to help diminish white bumps, unclog pores, refine rough skin, and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without irritating your skin. Ideal for all skin types struggling with stubborn imperfections.
I decided to get this product to act as a nightly spot treatment for any acne I have. I wasn’t impressed at first, but now I really love it. I have had quite a few instances where I get a pimple and it won’t go away. When I use BHA 9, it is either gone or a lot smaller the next day. The only gripe I have is that the consistency is very runny and the pump is hard to use with such a runny product. Since the product is effective I put up with it!
Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant boosts the skin’s tone and texture to enhance a natural glow. Salicylic acid exfoliates and promotes faster cell regeneration to minimize the appearance of blemishes, redness, large pores and wrinkles. Green tea soothes inflammation and shields against free-radical damage.
I use this product daily to aid in preventing acne, and it acts as an exfoliant as well. I apply it in the same way as the Weekly Resurfacing Treatment, and it helps maintain the great results that I got with that product. I don’t feel any tingling with this product- it isn’t very strong. I think this is a great product to have if you have issues with acne, but if you don’t, stick with the 10% weekly treatment. I featured this in my February Favorites because I think it has really prevented a lot of my acne. I get hormonal breakouts, which products can’t prevent, but other than that I’ve been blemish free, besides the few times I naively decide to try a new skincare product. Now I know not to fix something that ain’t broke in the first place!
I am definitely a big fan of these Paula’s Choice products- I really hope to try more in the future. Reasonably priced & super-effective. Not only do they have skincare, they also have a great makeup line. I am definitely going to repurchase these products on Dermstore.com whenever I run out! If you’re a Paula’s Choice Fan too, let me know what products I should try next!
